Product Management
A structured catalog workspace for products, categories, tags, sample imports, exports, and AI replies grounded in real merchandise.
Overview
Product Management is the catalog foundation for Billions+. It gives a business owner a clean place to create products, organize taxonomy, manage status, and prepare the data that the AI Sales Agent uses during customer conversations.
For a chat-commerce seller, the catalog is more than a back-office list. It is the source of truth for price, product names, descriptions, images, categories, tags, and availability state. If the catalog is accurate, AI can sell with confidence. If the catalog is messy, every downstream workflow becomes harder: order taking, recommendations, customer support, and analytics.
How It Works
The product list is scoped to the active business. It supports search, status filtering, category filtering, tag filtering, pagination, KPI cards, exports, and bulk operations. Filter and page state live in the URL, which makes views bookmarkable and easier to return to after edits.
The create and edit screens use the same form surface. Owners can add the product name, description, price, category, tags, product image, and publish state. Category and tag controls support inline creation so operators do not need to leave the product workflow just to organize a new item.
Bulk actions support larger catalog cleanup. Owners can select visible products or all matching products and apply status changes at scale. CSV exports are queued as jobs, updated by a live business socket, and fall back to polling while the export is processing.
Components
Catalog List
The catalog list combines KPI cards, search, filters, row actions, bulk actions, and pagination. It is designed for repeated operational use, where an owner may need to find a product quickly, update its status, and return to another workflow.
Product Form
The form creates and edits products using the same route-level surface. It supports image upload, product details, price, category, tags, and validation. Server field errors render inline so the owner knows exactly what to fix.
Taxonomy
Categories and tags let a business structure the catalog in a way that matches how customers ask questions. A fashion shop might group by dresses, tops, sizes, and materials. An electronics shop might group by device type, brand, and accessory compatibility.
Import And Export
Sample product seeding helps a new business understand the system quickly. Exports make it possible to audit, share, or back up the catalog. Live export status keeps the operator informed while larger exports are running.
Operating Proof
The operating proof is catalog discipline. Product rows, filters, status, categories, tags, and form validation keep merchandise data clean, which leads to better AI answers and more reliable order creation.
